Description
The necklace is inspired by the "Black Swan" movie with Natalie Portman. The last dance at the end... with all those feathers... mmm... I instantly wanted a big necklace... very light, 3D and the "feathers" that would move on it.
I needed all the different skills that I accumulated during all these years of making jewellery. There is lots of soldering here, of course. Also: wirework, wire-knitting and beading.
It took awhile to design it in my mind first in order to decide how even start something like this. It needed to be durable and light. The base, however, had to be metal to support the weight of the "feathers".
I fugured it out and got very happy with the result. Now... I just need to find a suitable dress and a party for this necklace!
P.S. I was able to use this necklace's ideas in other jewellery pieces that were a little bit more wearable. I have just published them recently... It is the "Fashion Week necklace" and the "Evening necklace".

Black Swan is one of my favorite movies, I love this. The final dance is my favorite scene. I actually just finished a painting based off the scene where she breaks her mirror.
